Tosh is a filmmaker, video artist and photographer. He is fully bilingual between Japanese and English.
He was born in Tokyo Japan and moved to Boston MA with his family at an early age. Since then he has frequently traveled back and forth between Tokyo and Boston. He received his MFA from Tufts University and The Museum School in 2014.
He spent two years in Houston Texas, building a new body of work - both commercial and fine arts. He is currently living and working in New York City.
His photography is primarily shot in medium format film, but also works with 35mm and digital.
He has recently written and directed a short film that is currently in Post, set to be released in February of 2019. The film is titled EMME.
He also currently runs a studio space with three other artists in Brooklyn NY called LAB NYC. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
The subjects are often immersed within the landscape to evoke a sense camouflage. An investigation of literal entanglement between humans and their surrounding space.
